01How much does it cost to build a food delivery app?

The cost depends on how many apps you need (customer, courier, kitchen), the number of locations, POS and aggregator integrations, and loyalty features. A single-restaurant ordering app is a much smaller scope than a multi-brand dark kitchen platform. We give a fixed estimate per stage after a short brief.

02How do I create an ordering app for my restaurant?

Start with the menu structure, delivery zones and payment methods, then decide whether kitchen and courier screens are needed now or later. A cross-platform Flutter app plus a mobile-friendly website covers most customers. Launch with core ordering first, then add loyalty and push once orders flow.

03How can a restaurant reduce aggregator commissions?

Keep aggregators for discovery but give regulars a reason to order directly: loyalty points, exclusive promos and faster reorder in your own app. Every order moved to your channel saves the commission and gives you the customer's contact for remarketing.

04Can online orders go straight to my POS?

Yes, if the POS has an API. We integrate the ordering system with POS platforms such as Square or Toast so orders, menu and stop list stay in sync. Aggregator orders can be routed into the same queue, so staff don't retype anything.

05Do I need an app or is a website enough?

A fast mobile website is enough to start taking direct orders and works for first-time visitors from search. An app pays off when you have regulars: push notifications, saved addresses and one-tap reorders lift repeat purchases. Many restaurants launch the website first and add the app later.

Food delivery app development that brings orders in-house

Food delivery app development pays off when more orders come through your own channel instead of aggregators that take a commission on every check. We build ordering apps and websites for restaurants, dark kitchens and chains that keep customer data and margin with you, while the kitchen and couriers work from one order queue.

Menu that matches how you actually cook

Sizes, add-ons, combos and a stop list that updates in real time, so customers never order what is out. Each location can have its own menu, hours and prices.

Delivery zones and checkout

Zones on a map with a minimum order and delivery fee per zone, pickup as an option, and payment by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or cash on delivery via Stripe, Mollie or Klarna.

One order flow for kitchen, couriers and aggregators

A kitchen display shows new orders as they arrive, a courier app handles routes and status changes, and customers see each step. Orders from Uber Eats, Wolt, Glovo, Deliveroo or Bolt Food land in the same queue as your own, and integration with POS systems such as Square or Toast removes double entry. Fewer missed and late orders means better reviews and repeat visits.

Native-feeling apps for iOS and Android come from a single codebase with Flutter mobile app development, which keeps launch and updates manageable. If you mainly need a web channel, we build an online store with ordering and payments that works as a fast mobile site. Read what drives the cost of a Flutter app before planning your budget.

Loyalty, push and repeat orders

Bonus points, promo codes and push notifications about offers turn first-time buyers into regulars. Order history and preferences sit in a CRM for customer and loyalty data, so marketing can segment by frequency, average check or favorite dishes. Chains get shared loyalty across locations; meal-kit and ready-food businesses get subscriptions and scheduled delivery.

We also build food ecommerce beyond restaurants, like the food ecommerce project Smakui. Timing depends on scope; we confirm the first release timeline after a brief.
